SCAD Atlanta Expands Scholarship Commitment to Turner Foundation for Community Advocacy’s Students

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Atlanta, GA – March 17, 2025 – The Turner Foundation for Community Advocacy, Inc. proudly announces an increased scholarship commitment from SCAD Atlanta for its SCAD Summer Seminars Enrichment Program, now supporting three high school students—up from one student last year. This all-expenses-paid residential experience will allow students to live on SCAD Atlanta’s campus during the upcoming summer, offering a unique opportunity to explore college life while honing their creative skills.

This year’s expanded commitment includes one full scholarship and two 50/50 scholarships, with SCAD covering half of the tuition and the Turner Foundation funding the remaining 50%. This structure ensures that more students from the Turner Foundation’s mentorship program can access this transformative program, removing financial barriers to participation.

The SCAD Summer Seminars Enrichment Program offers an immersive, hands-on introduction to college-level coursework in creative fields. Participants engage in interactive workshops led by SCAD faculty, collaborate with like-minded peers, and gain valuable insights into potential careers in art and design—all while experiencing campus life firsthand.

“We are thrilled that SCAD Atlanta has expanded its support for our students,” said Sunshine Hodges, CDMO of the Turner Foundation for Community Advocacy. “This residential, all-expenses-paid experience gives young creatives a head start in their college journey, allowing them to develop their skills, build confidence, and immerse themselves in a collegiate environment. With SCAD’s increased scholarship commitment and our foundation’s additional funding, we are ensuring that even more students can take advantage of this life-changing opportunity.”

Through this partnership, the Turner Foundation continues to equip students with the resources and support they need to explore higher education and creative careers.
