Our Work

Turner Foundation for Community Advocacy, Inc. is creating a systematic process that is scalable and repeatable in bringing resources and attention to underserved communities. Working collaboratively with city government decision-makers, community church leaders, neighborhood planning units (NPU), city council representatives, homeowner’s associations, corporations and non-profit organizations, foundations, local police, and fire departments to align focused attention and resources to improve underserved communities.

We are a connecting point to helping underserved individuals access resources, build relationships, and achieve long-term systemic change. Our goal is to establish a repeatable process that will yield similar outcomes in communities that lack the resources and attention they need while teaching the next generation of community advocates how to do the same.

The Turner Foundation for Community Advocacy, Inc. focuses on
beautification, cleanliness, safety, security, access, and modernization.

Here are some of the projects we undertake:

  • Street clean-up and trash removal in parks and adjacent surface streets
  • Reduce access to illegal dumping sites
  • Improve pedestrian safety with sidewalk installations
  • City park and green space beautification and modernization
  • Improve safety and security in public green spaces and parks
  • Improve, enhance, and modernize park and playground access for children in underserved communities
  • Improve and enhance the number of mixed-use and mountain biking trails in parks
  • Improve handicap accessibility in older city parks and recreation areas

Our Programs and Initiatives

Improving Public Parks and Green Spaces

We bring together an army of resources from the public, private, city government, and non-profit sectors to coordinate efforts to significantly and positively impact an underserved community.

Community Advocacy

We form a network of friendly coalitions made up of underserved communities, municipalities, churches, and nonprofit and for-profit companies, to align on neighborhood improvements that will benefit an underserved community.

Establish, Document, and Maintain a repeatable process for success

We strive to establish a process that is repeatable and scalable to achieve similar outcomes wherever we go.
